How to add a Spam filter in Outlook Express for Windows
  1. Open Outlook Express and click on the Tools menu.

  2. Navigate to Message Rules and click on the Mail option.

  3. This will bring up the Message Rules dialog box. Click on the New button.

  4. This will open the New Mail Rule dialog box. Select the "Where the Subject line contains specific words" checkbox and the "Move it to the specified folder" checkbox. This will add those lines the Rule Description input box. In the Rule Description box you will notice that there are links for each rule. Click on the "Where the Subject line contains certain words" link.



  5. Type the following in the Add input box *****SPAM***** and click the Add button and click the Ok button.


  6. Now click on the Move it to the specified folder link and the Move dialog box will open. Click on the New Folder button and create a folder called spam and click OK.



  7. The New Mail Rule dialog box should look like the following screen:

  8. Now click on the OK button and you're finished!

Note: Periodically check through the SPAM folder and delete the emails that are spam
and keep the ones that are not.
