Setting up Email in Outlook 2000 Tutorial


Step 1

You will need your email server settings to set up your email program. If you do not know your email settings contact us for support.



Step 2

Open Outlook 2000.



Step 3

Click the Next button.



Step 4

Click the Next button.



Step 5

Click the Next button.



Step 6

Check the box next to Internet E-mail.



Step 7

Click the Next button.



Step 8

Click the Setup Mail Account button.



Step 9

In the Mail account field, type a name for your email account (i.e. GKG).



Step 10

In the Name field, type your full name.



Step 11

In the E-mail address field, type your full email address (e.g., johndoe@gkg.net).



Step 12

Click on the Servers tab.



Step 13

In the Incoming Mail (POP3) field, type your Incoming mail server (POP) (as determined during step 1 of this walkthrough; if you have not followed this step, please click here ).



Step 14

In the Outgoing Mail Server field, type in your SMTP (as determined in Step 1 of this walkthrough; if you have not followed this step, please click here ).



Step 15

In the Account name field, type your account name.



Step 16

In the Password field, type your email password.



Step 17

Check the box next to My server requires authentication.



Step 18

Click the Settings button.

Select Log on using.



Step 20

In the Account name field, type your account name.



Step 21

CIn the Password field, type your password.



Step 22

Check the box next to Remember password.



Step 23

Click the OK button.



Step 24

Click on the Connection tab.



Step 25

Click the Connect using my phone line radio button in the Connection area.



Step 26

Click the down arrow on the Use the following Dial-Up Networking connection drop-down list and choose your connection.



Step 27

Click the OK button.
